10 Days in Mumbai

What an eventful 10 days these have been. First the rains and all the water, then I sprained my ankle for a couple of days, in the meanwhile Shiv Sena went berzerk (and held us up at a car dealer's in Thane for quite a few hours), and now today's blasts. But life goes on, you can't just stand still.

On a less senti front, I am joining a startup here called Cleartrip, reason being I could get to program in Lisp (my favourite language). And being the kind of procrastinator that I am, my "things to do" have been piling up for quite some time now (buy a new cell, write about a few things I have thought of, write testimonials for my friends (on orkut) - sorry guys!, start reading books again etc.). Don't know when I'll get the time to get all this stuff done. Time always seems so short, although I am sure I waste it all somehow.

One of the good things (I am sure there are many more to come) that have come out of my stay here is that I have finally learnt to read the Indian numerals. All the buses here have their numbers written in Marathi (Marathi also uses the Devanagari script, so the numerals are the same as those used for Hindi). So knowing how Indian numerals are written is essential.

Most of my time right now is spent either sleeping, playing with my two-year old neice, on the Net or roaming the streets of Navi Mumbai (that's where I am staying). All that is going to change, of course, once I join Cleartrip. That, really, would be the start of a new life. And I just can't wait to get started.
